Why Gospel-Centered?

We are gospel-centered because the gospel stands at the very center of God’s redemptive plan and Glory. To be gospel-centered is to do everything we do in reliance on blood-bought grace and promises. To be gospel-centered is to do everything we do with a view of displaying the all-satisfying grace of God. And to be gospel-centered is to live so that we as His Church show the glory of God, treasuring above all things the One through whom all grace comes.

Our Mission

The mission of New Life Fellowship is to bring glory to God by making disciples through gospel-centered worship, gospel-centered community, and gospel-centered mission.

The Three E's

Encounter  |  Experience  |  Engage

When the gospel is central in our lives we experience spiritual transformation, not just moral improvement, and this change does not come about by our willpower or strength, but by the power of the once crucified and risen Christ. Our hope for becoming what God designed and desires for us is not trying harder, but trusting more by relying on His all-sufficient Word and the Spirit to sanctify us.

When the gospel is central in our lives we long for and discover unity with other believers in the local church, not because of any cultural commonality, but because of our common faith and Savior. It is within this covenant community through the power of the gospel that we experience the kind of fellowship that makes disciples, comforts the afflicted, corrects the wayward, strengthens the weak, and encourages the disheartened, and centers each other on the mission of the Church.

When the gospel is central in our lives we accept the commission to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and to work for the restoration and renewal of our communities and city. We live as missionaries right where we are in the practical rhythms of everyday life. Because of the gospel we also desire to be a part of seeing the gospel reach the nations for His Glory.

Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone)  The Bible alone is our highest authority in all spiritual matters. The Scripture alone is sufficient for both life and godliness.

Sola Fide (Faith alone)  We are saved through faith alone in Christ alone. Forgiveness of sins, eternal righteousness, and salvation, are gifts of sheer grace, granted solely by Christ's merit and completely without human merit.

Sola Gratia (Grace alone)  We are saved by the grace of God alone. Grace at the start, grace to the end, grace in the middle, grace without fail, grace without mixture, grace without addition, grace that allows no boasting, grace that precludes all glorying but in Christ alone.

Solus Christus (Christ alone)  Jesus Christ alone is our Lord, Savior, and King. Salvation is found only in, by, and through the Person of Jesus Christ alone. He is the only Mediator between humanity and God and His finished work on the cross and resurrection are sufficient for the removal of our sins and making us right with God.

Soli Deo Gloria (To the Glory of God alone)  We live for the glory of God alone. There is but one only, living, and true God, Who is infinite in being and perfection, a most pure spirit, invisible, immutable, immense, eternal, incomprehensible, almighty, most wise, most holy, most free, most absolute. Working all things according to the counsel of His own sovereign and most righteous will, for His own glory.

Before there can be a community of faith, there must be a faith to confess. A Gospel-centered church believes the truth is worth knowing and making known. It is a church that unites with the churches that have gone before it. It is a church that desires clarity, unity, charity, and safety for the people of God. New Life uses New City Catechism for corporate worship and unity, discipleship, and aiding the family in training their children to know and love God.
